Recently KPMGs Global Chairman and CEO, Bill Thomas, spoke about the importance of integrated reporting and how it could be implemented to address the biggest issues facing businesses today.
Each year KPMG interviews 1,300 CEOs and this year they described the 3 greatest threats to their future growth as:
Climate change
Emergence of disruptive technology
Perceived return to territorialism (extreme control over resources and headcount)
You’ll notice that all three of these threats are intangible threats despite all businesses determining their success on financial results. So what’s the solution to these threats? Combin tangible and intangible reporting in order to link purpose, value and performance.
